Cinema மினிமா's Movie Review on 'Kutti Puli'

Cast: Sasi Kumar, Lakshmi Menon, Saranya
Music: Ghibran
Cinematography: Mahesh Muthuswamy
Written and Directed by: Mutthiah.M

Expectations peak up higher as the biggest distribution units of Tamil Cinema, Red Giant Movies and Sun Pictures pair up in 'Kutti Puli'. Kutti Puli is a Tale of a young man who grows up like his rogue father, who atlast understands the true affection and love of his mom. Tamil Cinema is seeing this kind of story in atleast a couple of movies in a year. Then what is so special about it???

The hero of this movie, M.Sasi Kumar, makes it so special with his timing dialogues and stunts. He is very much fit for the role of a rouge, which he almost does in all his movies. The lead pair for him, Lakshmi Memon looks like  a cute doll. She just comes in for the romance sequences. Saranya, who has taken the role of Sasi kumar's mother has lived up to her role. The villain Rama Prabha, who comes in with some terrific killer intro, Just appears for few scenes alone.

The Pappu and co. provides some laughter in the movie. But they also come for few sequences only. If all come for few sequences alone, who is gonna come for the entire movie??? Its sasi kumar, Lakshmi Menon and Saranya.

Under Ghibran's Music, 'Thaatiyare' and 'Aruvaakaaran' are awesome to hear. Rest others are a kind of touch and go type. The BGM is so loud and terrific. Ghibran should come up with more potential, which he has learnt from A.R.R. Cinematograher Mahesh Muthuswamy has done a decent job with his camera, with his camera rolling inside the streets of Srivilliputtur.

The dialogues written Director Mutthiah are awesome. But, as the movie goes on, the Sentimental dialogues which occurs again and again makes everyone to 'Booo' inside theater. Could see many people yawning during dialogues at the end. Likewise, the love sequences between Sasi kumar and lakshmi menon could have been reduced. It makes the second half to look very much looooonger and dragging.

Positives:
  • Sasi Kumar's Action and dialogue delivery
  • Saranya's portayal as mother
  • Lakshmi Menon's beauty

Negatives:

Rest everything are negatives. Still have to mention some important points:

  • The movie is dead slow and very much dragging to the end
  • Screenplay just goes off the record in second half
  • Villain is not being utilized properly
  • Over sentimental Dosage

Director Mutthiah could have trimmed his screenplay further. This makes the audience [Even the die-hard fans of Sasi Kumar] to almost feel like boring. Sasi Kumar should also avoid choosing the same kind of roles, which he is using to portray in almost all his films. He could have been careful before choosing this script. Kutti Puli really frustrates everyone.

RATING - 5/10 [Only for Sentiment Lovers]

Cinema மினிமா's Movie Review on 'NERAM'

Cast :  Nivin Pauly, Nazriya Nazim, Thambi Ramaiyah, Simhaa, Nasser
Music : Rajesh Murugesan
Cinematography : Anand Chandran
Written and Directed by : Alphonse Puthren

How shall I describe this movie??? NERAM [Time].... This movie is just about the two times of human - Good Time and Bad Time. The plot seems to be very clear and enjoyable. Tamil Cinema is still alive with such innovations taking place.

Hero of this movie is Nivin Pauly. He has done a perfect job in this movie. The place where he expresses his love, anger, fear and disappointment are all superb. His pair Nazriya Nazin looks like a cute doll. The chemistry between Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazin is perfect. Though there is not much of love scenes available, you wont offend the above said point. The cast goes long with more characters like Thambi Ramaiyah, Simhaa, Nasser etc., All the characters have done justice to their roles.

The first half of the movie seemed to be a bit slower and dragging with only very few places of entertainment. But the second half provides the wholesome entertainment with a pace that is a bit faster compared to the first half. Director Alphonse could have taken care of the pace of the movie. Still you wont feel bored. Had it been a bit faster, It would have been more racy and pacy.

Dialogues penned by Director Alphonse, are so comic. Dialogues like 'B.E- Computer science engineering??? Awsmm....', 'Thambi ungalukku CD write panna theriyuma?' etc., makes the audience to go up to their feet. They guarantee full entertainment. The songs are all nice to hear. ' 'Beethevon Symphony' is the heart beat of this movie's BGM. Some more innovative music would have made the music director Rajesh Murugan - the person to watch out for.

If you are someone who looks out for Awesome entertainment, you can surely walk into the nearby theater, speding your time (neram) to watchout for 'NERAM'.

RATING - 7/10 [NERAM - Worth your time]
