Cinema மினிமா's Movie review on Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga

Cast: Vimal, Shiva Karthikeyan, 'Parotta' soori', Bindhu Madhavi, Regina Cassandra
Cinematography: Vijay
Music: Yuvanshankar Raja
Written and Directed by: Pandiraj

Expectations were really peaking high with the duo of persons known for their timing comedies, Vimal, Shivakarthikeyan, 'Parotta' soori joining together with the national award winning director Pandiraj. Has this movie done enough to meet these expectations? Lets have a look into this review.

Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga is a comic tale of two youngsters and their friends, who transform from the state of so called 'Roadside romeos' to an elegant position their life. A usual story which we see in many movies, but the presence of Vimal and Shiva karthikeyan, still makes it very fresh. These two have done a great job with their as usual timing comedies.

The lead pairs for this duo are Bindhu Madhavi and Regina Cassandra. They look very beaufitful in the movie. These both have done justice to their roles. Still out of these two, Bindhu Madhavi deserves to be the winner.

'Parotta' Soori is really the spinal cord and centre of attraction for this movie. This movie will be his career best. His spontaneous flow of dialogues, Expressions and Sense of humour are absolutely fantastic. He can be even called as 'Third hero' in this movie.

Cinematography is being done by Vijay. He hasn't got much work to do. But still he has done well with what the director has expcted from him. Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs are good to hear. Especially 'Oru Porambokku' song makes everyone dance in the floor. He could have taken some extra effort in BGM.

Director Pandiraj's screenplay and dialogues make the time to travel with no speedbreaker or any jerks. He also gives his impression in the climax scenes and he needs to be applauded for giving a good message through this commercial entertainer.

There are lots of logic loopholes in the movie, which you cannot expect in a commercial movie. Still, director pandiraj could have made some efforts to avoid them. There are also few places where the lip sync does not match exactly. This should have been avoided. Still these loopholes does not stop the audience in Laughing for the entire 150 minutes.

If you are someone who expect 100% entertainment without expecting logic in it, then KBKR serves you as awsome and delicious stuff for 150 minutes. It is definitely a 150 minutes laugh riot. Thumbs up!!

RATING - 7/10 [Worth a watch]

Cinema மினிமா's Paradesi Movie Review

Cast - Adharva, Vedhika, Dhansika
Story, Dialogues, Screenplay, Direction - Bala
Cinematography - Chezhian
Music - G.V.Prakash Kumar
Lyrics - Vairamuthu
Editor - T.E.Kishore

Note: This movie is not like any other commercial movies. If you are someone, who wants 2 classical songs, 3 fights, punch dialogues etc., please, you have landed in a wrong review page.

Paradesi is a story depicting the lives of people in a certain remote village in the past 1940's and the history of the how Tea was being planted. I dont know how Director Bala has made these characters ready. Simply Amazing!! The intent of the movie was never or ever let down. A big cheers for your 'no compromise policy' Bala sir.

All the characters have lived up to their roles. Ranging from Adharva to the English men, everyone have done morethan enough. Out of this big race, Adharva and Vedhika wins the race with their enchantic expressions. They look so natural. Adharva thoroughly deserves a 'National Award' for such an awsm acting. Vedhika, if she had done the re-recording on her own voice, she too would have been a leading contender for the award. Dhansika, who appears at the later part of the movie gets a very bold role. Other than that, even the small characters like Adharva's uncle, Adharva's Grandma, the villain, English priest's everyone lives up great to their characters.

The Big plus of the movie is the cinematography, Lyrics and Music. Cinematographer Chezhian has made his camera to travel along with the scenes right from the start of the movie. The Aerial views and wide shots which he has used in many scenes, gives a visual treat and adds strength to the movie.  Lyrics penned by Vairamuthu is mind-Boggling.   G.V.Prakash Kumar adds value to such an awsm Lyrics with his Music. This Duo will make you to cry in the song 'Sengaade'[Superb lyrics and Music]. BGM is also laudable. National Award winning Editor T.E.Kishore yet again proves his master stroke editing with clear cuts.

The two negatives which i found are a bit slower screenplay towards the latter part of the movie and few dialogues. Though the screenplay is not much slower, comparatively to the first half, the speed gets slower in second half. Director Bala could avoid using raw unparliamentary words, which always comes alongside, all of his movies.

But those things too doesn't affect the Flow of the story. Though the ethinic ceremonies and living style of the people make you laugh initially, the cunningness of villain and Plight of the slaves, makes you to shed your tears automatically. This movie is really a sensational and painful experience for everyone. If you are a very weak heartened person, please avoid this movie, because the pain which is depicted in the latter part of the movie is unbearable. Director Bala, thank you for giving such a wonderful experience.

RATING - 8.5/10 - [Director Bala's Best Movie till date]
