என்னைக் கவர்ந்த இறுதிச்சுற்று!!

வாரம்தோறும் ஒவ்வொரு வெள்ளிக்கிழமைகளிலும் புதிய படங்கள் வெளியாகின்றன. அவற்றுள் சில படங்களே மக்கள் மனதில் இடம் பிடித்து தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்துகின்றன. அவற்றுள் ஒன்று இந்த 'இறுதிச்சுற்று'. மாதவன், ரித்திகா சிங், நாசர், ராதாரவி மற்றும் பலர் நடித்துள்ள இப்படம் கடந்த 29ம் தேதி வெளியானது.

4 வருடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு மாதவன் மீண்டும் திரையில் வந்திருக்கிறார். பெரும்பாலும் சாதுவான தோற்றத்தில் நடிப்பவர், இப்படத்திற்காக தனது தோற்றத்தை நன்கு மெறுகேற்றியிருக்கிறார். ஒரு குத்துச் சண்டைப் பயிற்சியாளராகவே வாழ்ந்திருக்கிறார் என்றே கூறலாம். ஒரு நேர்மையான பயிற்சியாளனின் வீரம், கோபம், வலி, ஏக்கம் ஆகியனவற்றைத் தனது அசாத்திய நடிப்பின் மூலம் வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார். குறிப்பாக தன் மேலதிகாரியின் அரசியலால் அவதிப்படும் காட்சிகளில் ரசிகர்களைப் பரிதாபப்பட வைக்கிறார். தம்பி படத்திற்குப்பின் ஒரு வித்தியாச முயற்சி. இந்த கதாபாத்திரத்தில் வேறு எவரையும் எண்ணிப் பார்க்க முடியாத அளவிற்கு மனிதர் வெளுத்து வாங்கிவிட்டார். இப்படி ஒரு அற்புதமான கதாபாத்திரதிற்காகவே இவ்வளவு பெரிய இடைவெளி என்பது ஏற்கத்தகுந்தது.

படத்தின் நாயகி ரித்திகா சிங். திரையுகிற்கு கிடைத்திருக்கும் ஒரு புதிய வரப்பிரசாதம். நடிப்பில் மாதவனையே மிஞ்சி விட்டார். இயல்பிலேயே இவர் குத்துச் சண்டை வீராங்கனை என்பதால், குத்துச் சண்டைக் காட்சிகளில் மிக இயல்பாக பொறுந்தியிருக்கிறார். அழகும் குறும்பும் வீரமும் பொருந்திய தனது கதாபாத்திரத்தில் - தவறான தீர்ப்பு வழங்கும் நடுவர்களைப் போட்டு புரட்டி எடுப்பது, தனுஷின் ரசிகையாக அவரைப் போலவே நடனமாடுவது, மாதவனைப் பார்த்து கோபப்படுவது, அவரைப் பார்த்து நக்கலாக சிரிப்பது, ஒற்றைக் கையில் உடற்பயிற்சி, வெற்றிக்களிப்பில் அழுவது என பின்னியெடுத்திருக்கிறார். பெண்களால் இப்படி ஒரு கதாப்பாத்திரத்திலும் நடிக்க முடியும், இப்படி ஒரு வீராங்கனையாக சாதிக்க முடியும் என்பதற்கு இது சான்று. 

 

மற்ற கதாபாத்திரங்களும் தத்தம் கடமைகளைச் செவ்வணே செய்கின்றனர். சிவகுமார் விஜயனின் கேமராவும், சந்தோஷ் நாராயணின் இசையும் படத்தின் பலத்தை அதிகரிக்கின்றன. படத்தின் இறுதிச்சுற்றைக் கனக்கச்சிதமாகக் காட்சிப் படுத்தியதில் இக்கூட்டணியின் பங்கு பெரிது என்றே கூறலாம். 

இப்படத்தின் இயக்குனர் சுதா கொங்காரா. படத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு கதாபாத்திரங்களையும் தேர்வு செய்த விதத்தில் மிகையாய்  மிளிர்கிறார். ரித்திகாவை முதலில் ஒரு பேன்ட்-சட்டை அணிந்து கொண்டு அவர் பணம் கிடைத்த மகிழ்ச்சியில் ஓடும் பெண்ணாகவும், பின்னர் மாதவன் மீது கோபத்துடன் ஓடும் பெண்ணாகவும், இறுதிக் காட்சியில் மாதவனைப் பார்க்க ஏக்கத்துடன் ஓடும் பெண்ணாகவும் வித விதமாகவே பதிவு செய்திருப்பது நேர்த்தி. இப்படம் இந்தியிலும், தமிழிலும்  எடுக்கப்படுகிறது என்பதால், ரித்திகாவின் குடும்பத்தினரை இந்தி - தமிழ் கலந்த குடும்பமாக காட்சிப் படுத்தியதில் இவரது புத்திசாலித்தனம் மிளிர்கிறது. ஒரு பெண்ணின் வளர்ச்சியைப் பற்றிய படமாக இருந்தாலும், பெண்களை நல்லவர்களாக மட்டுமே பதிவு செய்யாமல், பெண்களின் வீரத்தையும் காதலையும் ரித்திகா மூலமாகவும், சில பெண்களின் பொறாமை குணத்தை ரித்திகாவின் சகோதரி மூலமாகவும், சில பெண்களின் வஞ்சக குணத்தை ரித்திகாவை வில்லனிடம் அழைத்துச் செல்லும் பெண் மூலமாக பதிவு செய்தது பாராட்டுக்குரியது. 

பெண்களுக்கான குத்துச் சண்டைக் கதையில், காட்சிப்படுத்தும் விதம் சிறிது பிசகினாலும் மொத்த கதையும் முடிந்துவிடும். அதனை மிக நேர்த்தியாக கையாண்டுள்ளார் என்றே கூறலாம். மாதவன் - ரித்திகா இடையேயான குரு-சிஷ்யை உறவை ஒரு கவிதையைப் போல் கூறியதற்கும்,  ஒரு பெண் குனியும்போதும் குதிக்கும்போதும் அவள் அழகைக் காட்டாமல், அவளது வீரத்தையும், தைரியத்தையும் சிறப்பாக காட்டியதற்கும், ஒரு பூங்கொத்து என்ன, ஒரு பூக்கடையையே  கொடுத்தாலும் மிகாது. சிம்புவின் பாடலுக்கு வழக்கு பதிவு செய்த மாதர் சங்கமே, இது நீங்கள் விருது கொடுத்து கொண்டாட வேண்டிய படம். என்ன செய்கிறீர்கள் என்று பார்க்கலாம். 

MSD - The Real leader

I have stopped writing blogs for almost past 6 months and the recent incidents surrounding M S Dhoni and Indian cricket team has made me to write this blog. I cannot list all his achievements. But I can list out few stints in this writing.

Earlier Days as a Finisher:

Right from the match M S Dhoni started playing international cricket, he has showed that he can make the team to win single handedly. On Novemeber 3rd 2005, M S Dhoni proved his capability of chasing down huge targets with a brutal assault of 183 in 145 balls against Srilanka, When India successfully chased down 303 in just 46.1 overs. He was being promoted up the order at No:3 and he made the most of it.

In the very next match against the same opposition, he had to play a calm and composed innings of 45 off 43 balls when the team was suffering at 180/6 when the team was chasing a target of 262. In this match he came in at No:6 and guided the team to win the match. Even in his early days, he proved himself as an able finisher in his earlier days of cricket.

Earlier days as Captain:

MS Dhoni was handed the captaincy for the maiden world T20 venture in 2007. His creative captaincy was seen during the match between India and Pakistan when he made Robin Uthappa, Virendar Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh to bowl the bowl out and hit the stumps straight on target when the leading bowlers of Pakistan - Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi didnt hit the stumps.

His captainship brilliance was shown when he made Rohit Sharma to make his debut appearance as a replacement of Yuvraj Singh against South Africa. It proved to be a master stroke as Rohit Sharma took the game away from South Africa. In the final against pakistan, he backed his bowler mohit sharma to come and bowl, which proved to be the best of all his decisions till date. India won the match against Pakistan by 5 runs and won the Maiden T20 tournament. This was a big win for Team India, As they were disqulified after the league stage in World cup 2007 earlier.

The Leader Arrives....

Dhoni was handed with the full time ODI captaincy when Rahul Dravid quit the ODI captaincy. Though India lost its first series under his captaincy to Australia, they hit back strongly with a 6-1 win against pakistan. The next series was a real test for M S Dhoni's captaincy as they had to travel to Australia. The triseries involved India, Australia and Srilanka. In the 8th Match between India and Srilanka, Dhoni scored a vital 50 [Not out] off 68 balls without hitting a single boundary leading the team to chase down 238. They way he effectively handled Praveen Kumar in that series was praised by many cricketting experts as India went on to win a ODI series in Australia for the first ever time.

After Anil kumble retired from test cricket, M S Dhoni was handed the test captainship on November 6th 2008. India won the Final Test match against Australia and won the series. It was the final game for Sourav Ganguly. M S Dhoni gave a great send off to Sourav Ganguly by handing over the captainship to Sourav Ganguly in the final moments of the match. The birth of MSDian era started that particular day as MSD was the captain of Team India in all three formats.

From then, India had some memorable days. India toured to New Zealand and won the Test Match and ODI series in 2009. After the test series win against Sri Lanka, India claimed No:1 spot in test series for the first ever time. A series of victories came against some bigger opponents like South Africa, Australia etc., when they visited India in 2010. 

The World cup:

The biggest test for Dhoni's test came in the form of World Cup 2011. India had a combination of younger and experienced players this season. Players like Piyush Chawla,

Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Suresh Raina got to play their first ever world cup. This turned out to be a great one as India won the world cup after 28 years. Dhoni was a sensation and was the headlines in almost all the newspapers.

The trouble begins...

The off season for Team India and M S Dhoni Started in July 2011, when they were whitewashed by England in England. The whitewash was continued in Autralia too in the same year. India lost 8 straight tests in foreign soil. Several Questions were raised against his captaincy. When England travelled back to India in 2012, India lost the Test Series to England, Which added more fuel to the fire. The critics were hardly hitting at M S Dhoni in a matter of just a year. Those who praised MSD for his amazing captaincy just an year ago for the world cup victory were pressurizing MSD like anything. Later in the same year, India lost to a ODI series against Pakistan which was in India. But Dhoni's batting was heavily praised. Especially the century at chepauk in the First ODI stands out to be one of his best innings till now when he scored 113 out of 125 balls. India were 29/5 at one stage and Dhoni's innings made India to acheive a decent score.

Defeat is not permanent to any team. 2013 proved to be a great year for team India. India started the year with a ODI series win against England. India Whitewashed Australia in a 4 match test series. In July 2013, India travelled to England to play ICC Champions trophy. It was a very younger team, but the magic captaincy of M S Dhoni led India to win the ICC Champions trophy 2013. Dhoni was again in the headlines. He was lauded for the way he used up the All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja. India went on to win a Tri-series in West Indies and ODI series against Australia in India, later that year. MSD play a major part in winning those series.

Indian defeat in foreign soil again started with some loses in South Africa in 2013 and New zealand and England in 2014. India didnt achieve a single victory in 2015 when they travelled to Australia. MSD was heavily criticized again. 

World Cup 2015 and Bangladesh tour

After a poor season, India went on to play the world cup with zero expectations. But they played well and reached the semis where they lost to Australia. The very next series they lost their series agaist Bangladesh. This time, the controversy got so much worser that Dhoni himslef admitted that he is ready to quit the captaincy.

Mad Critics:

Interview by Dhoni and Kohli's coaches suggested that there is some rift in the dressing room. Most of the players who have been currently playing in the team have made their debut under the captaincy of M S Dhoni. Few critics have panned about the chance given to Ravindra Jadeja. If you take a look few years back, Rohit Sharma was in the same boat and after he got some constant chances, he proved his worth. Just because Ravindra Jadeja plays for chennai super kings, The critics are hitting hard at M S Dhoni. Where have they been when chances where given to Rohit Sharma? The same was the case with Murali Vijay too previously. When he was in Chennai Super Kings, he was being questioned hardly, but after he was not retained in Chennai Super Kings, the talks stopped about it. Now Rohit Sharma and murali vijay play a vital role in Indian cricket. A true captain is someone who backs his players in their difficult situations and make them emerge as fine players. M S Dhoni has done exactly that.

Few critics still hit pointlessly say that chances are given based on Chennai Super Kings. Of course Ravindra Jadeja might have been facing a dip in his form. All others Suresh Raina, Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohit Sharma have proved their worth except a few matches. Dhoni was being heavily criticized for his decision to drop Rahane in the second ODI against Bangladesh. The same critics lauded Dhoni when Rahane was promoted up the order in the match against South Africa in world cup 2015. 

When great players like Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly etc., back M S Dhoni, who are these critics to blame him? Are they more qualified cricketers more than them? Before criticizing someone they should think about his achievements. He has taken India to a great level which no other Indian captain has never done. Few of his records are yet to be broken by many international captains which includes highest individual score by a wicket keeper captain in test matches and winning all the ICC trophies. 

He has proved himself to be a fearless and most successful Indian captain. But the recent happenings have made this fearless man to admit, "I will quit captaincy, If I am the sole reason for all bad things happening to Team India". It should be noted that when Rahul Dravid quit the captaincy in 2007, No other senior players came forward to accept the captaincy which includes Sachin Tendulkar too. And now, the critics have nicely rewarded MSD for shouldering the team for 8 years with their cruel words. Definetely you guys have achieved what you needed.

When every country is celebrating M S Dhoni, he has haters in India alone just because they think he is the sole reason for yuvraj Singh and few other player's exclusion. They have even failed to click in the recent IPL series, but still few of their fans are hitting hard at him. Yuvraj was given a chance in Australia series and World T20 which he didn't capitalize. It should be noted that when the critics hit hard at Yuvraj Singh, Dhoni backed yuvi in all the press conferences. Just because of few loses, his achievements will not fade away.

A true fan is someone who backs his hero even during their bad times. I am one die hard fan of MSD and this article is a tribute to this legendary captain. 

SIGARAM THODU - Movie Review

After some hectic schedule and a long break from posting reviews, here comes the review of SIGARAM THODU. I initially thought that my reviews have came to an end already. But, It has just begun again thanks to many people who have encouraged me in writing reviews again in this blog. Hope I would continue this as I start it again now.

Movies under the banner of 'UTV Productions' always have a set of expectations from audience. With the combination of Vikram Prabhu, who has just tasted his hat-trick success, this expectation got a little higher. Every hero has an ambition of wearing the most prestigious Police uniform and take up the role of a police officer in atleast one film in their entire career. When, It was heard like this opportunity has knocked Vikram Prabhu's doors, the Expectations raised up further higher. Has this movie lived upto its expectations?? Lets go ahead to know in this review:

'SIGARAM THODU' is all about a father's wish to make his son climb to the top of what he wished to see his son as. Mixed with some crime and thrill, Director Gaurav has packaged a product that sounds pretty interesting.

CAST:
Vikram Prabhu as Murali Pandiyan, plays the role of a typical youth. The initial scenes where in he strives for getting a bank job, the love scenes with Monal Gajjar, Transformation as a Police Sub-Inspector and the places wherein he emotes - Each and every places this man scores what is expected out of him. Infact, he has done morethan expected. He is showing a variety in each and every movies he takes up. Way to go Vikram Prabhu! Monal Gajjar as Ambujam looks pretty and bubbly in certain scenes and a bit dull in certain scenes. Make-up should have been taken care for her. Her expressions seem to be so artificial. She should have done more homework with the expressions. 'Miss Gujarat', you should do much better in your upcoming films.

Sathyaraj as Vikram Prabhu's father again proves the worth of him in this movie. He has shown how precious he is in each and every frame he comes in this film. The place where he fights with a single leg is the highlight of all. Vikram Prabhu and Sathyaraj can be rightly called as the two pillars of this film. Sathish and 'Erode' Mahesh provide the much needed comic content to the film. Kovai Sarala comes in as Monal Gajjar's grand mother. Such a veteran comic actress holds a very little non-important role for very few scenes alone. The antagonist role is being played by Director Gaurav himself and another person, who fit in very much perfectly for their respective roles.

CINEMATOGRAPHY, MUSIC AND EDITING:
Cinematography by Vijay Ulaganath is mind-blowing. Whatever the sequence may be, the love sequences in Haridwar, 'Pidichurukku' Song in Himalayas, Fight and chase sequences in chennai are all a treat to watch. He simply makes the audience to be a part of the film with many of his angles and frames. He will definitely be a man to watch out for in all his upcoming films.

Songs composed by D.Imman are so pleasant. 'Takkunu Takkunu' and 'Pidichurukku' songs are the pick of the Album. Background Music is pulsating. This man proves his ability in each and every movie he does. Editing by the 'National award' winning Editor Praveen.K.L is so crispier. The way he has edited the flashback sequences will be a new trend in cinemas hereafter. The place wherein he shows in the born baby with police suit is a nice creativity. Overall the technical team of Camera, Music and Editing has hit sixes and boundaries in all the balls they have faced. Kudos!!

STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIRECTION:
 Coming to the story front, Its a very ordinary story-line which we have seen in few movies like Kreedom. But the way Director Gaurav has sculptured the screenplay for this story-line is amazing. Bringing in the ATM scam, he teaches a lesson to audience how credit cards / Debit cards of others can be misused. He has really done a very good research about it and has applied it very effectively not exaggerating stuffs about it too much. Well Done Director Gaurav! Also, The way he has characterized the Antagonists is too good. Though there aren't much twists in the screenplay, Gaurav has still managed to keep the thrill maintained throughout the second half.

But to go through such exciting moments of this film, you should have to bare few love sequences that comes at the initial part of the film in the First Half. The love sequences are so bad that the audience were booing at it especially the reason for which Monal Gajjar confronts her love. I really don't know, For how many years still the heroine will love the hero so instantly. But a good thing what exists there is these love proportions are very little so it does not affect the film's flow.

VERDICT:
On the whole, SIGARAM THODU is an engaging thriller, packaged with all necessary ingredients like Action, Crime, love and sentiment in right proportions. Had the first half been made still more interesting, the end product would have been still more engaging.

இனி தமிழ் படங்களின் விமர்சனத்தை எழுதக்கூடாது என்று தான் நினைத்திருந்தேன். நேற்று 'இனம்' திரைப்படத்தைப் பார்த்த பின்னர், இந்த தரமான படைப்பிற்கு விமர்சனம் எழுதியே தீர வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்து இந்த விமர்சனத்தை ஆரம்பிக்கிறேன்.

4 தேசிய விருதுகள் வாங்கிய ஒளிப்பதிவாளரும், பலரும் பாராட்டும் படங்களை எடுத்த இயக்குனரும் உள்ளடங்கிய மனிதர் சந்தோஷ் சிவன். அவரது கதை-திரைக்கதை-இயக்கம்-ஒளிப்பதிவிலும், சமீப காலமாக மிகத் தரமான திரைப்படங்களைத் தயாரித்து தமிழ் சினிமாவிற்கு பெருமை சேர்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் இயக்குனர் லிங்குசாமியின்  'திருப்பதி பிரதர்ஸ்' நிறுவனத்தின் தயாரிப்பிலும், இலங்கையில் நம் தமிழ் இனத்தின் வாழ்க்கையையும் இன்னல்களையும் அவர் படைத்திருப்பதே 'இனம்'.  நம் தமிழ் இனத்திற்காக எடுக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் இந்த படத்தின் விமர்சனத்தினைத் தமிழிலேயே உங்களுக்கு வழங்குகிறேன்!!

நடிப்பு:
படத்தில் வரும் கதாபாத்திரங்களில் சரிதா, கருணாஸ் தவிர அனைவரும் புதியவர்களே. சுனாமி அக்காவாக சரிதா. நீண்ட இடைவேளைக்குப் பிறகு நடிக்க வந்திருக்கும் இவர், நடிப்பில் வெளுத்து வாங்கியிருக்கிறார். ஸ்டான்லியாக கருணாஸ் முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட தோற்றத்தில் வருகிறார். வசன உச்சரிப்பு, முக பாவனைகள் என அனைத்திலும் பின்னி எடுத்திருக்கிறார் மனிதர்.

படத்தினை தன் அட்டகாச நடிப்பினால் தாங்கி பிடித்திருக்கும் இன்னொரு ஜீவன், கரன் [அறிமுகம்]. மனநலம் குன்றியவராக வரும் அவர் பல இடங்களில் கவனிக்க வைக்கிறார். மேலும், சுகந்தா, ஷ்யாம் சுந்தர், சௌம்யா, விக்ரம் என அனைத்து அறிமுகங்களும் தங்கள் பணியை செவ்வனே செய்கின்றனர். இவர்களை தவிர அந்த கதாபாத்திரத்தில் வேறு எவரும் நடித்திர இயலாது என்பது போல நடித்து அசத்தியுள்ளது இந்த படை.

இசை மற்றும் ஒளிப்பதிவு: 
படத்தின் இசையினை அறிமுக இசையமைப்பாளர் விஷால் சந்திரசேகர் கையாண்டுள்ளார். அவரது இசையில் பாடல்கள் எதுவும் சொல்லிக்கொள்ளும் அளவுக்கு இல்லை. அனால் பின்னணி இசையில் மிரட்டியிருக்கிறார். முதல் படத்திலேயே போர் காட்சிகளுக்கு பின்னணி தருவது என்பது மிக எளிதான விஷயம் இல்லை. இனி வரும் படங்களில் இவர் கவனிக்கப் படுவார்.

படத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலம் சந்தோஷ் சிவனின் ஒளிப்பதிவு. அனைத்து காட்சிகளும் மிக நேர்த்தியாய் அமைந்திருக்கின்றன. போர் காட்சிகளில் காமிரா நம்மை போர்க்களத்தின் உள்ளேயே அழைத்துச் செல்கிறது. நாமே போர்க்களத்தில் இருப்பது போன்ற ஒரு உணர்வை நமக்கு தருவதே இந்த படத்தின் வெற்றி. இந்த காட்சிகளை திரையரங்கினில் கண்டு களித்தால் மட்டுமே அந்த உணர்வைப் பெற முடியும்.

வசனம், திரைக்கதை, இயக்கம்:
படத்தில் வசனங்கள் யாவும் மிக நேர்த்தியாய் அமைந்திருக்கின்றன. இவற்றுள் என்னை மிகையாய் கவர்ந்தவை - தமிழர்களின் பெருமையைக் கூறி சரிதா மனம் உடைந்து அழும் காட்சி, 'கண் திறந்திருந்தா திரும்ப வருவாங்கன்னு சுனாமி அக்கா சொல்லிருக்காங்க! லீடர் திரும்ப வருவார்' என நந்தன் உருகும் காட்சி. ரசிகர்களும் இந்த காட்சிகளில் பலத்த கரகோஷங்களை எழுப்பினர்.

சந்தோஷ் சிவனின் திறமை ஒளிப்பதிவோடு நின்றுவிடாமல் திரைக்கதையிலும் மிளிர்கிறது. இலங்கைப் பிரச்சனையைப் பற்றிய கதை என்றாலும் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் மற்றும் இலங்கை ராணுவத்தின் இடையே நடக்கும் போரினைப் பற்றி மட்டும் கூறுவது போல் இல்லாமல், அங்கே வசிக்கும் ஈழ மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் தொடங்கி, அந்த போரினால் அவர்கள் படும் நரக வேதனையை நம் கண்முன்னே கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தியிருக்கிறது சந்தோஷ் சிவனின் திரைக்கதை. போர் காட்சிகள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் பாலியல் பலாத்காரம் செய்யப்படும் காட்சிகள் என அனைத்தும் மிக இயற்கையாய் அமைந்து நம் மனதை வெகுவாய் பாதிக்கின்றன. ரஜினியைக் காப்பாற்ற நந்தன் ராணுவ வீரனைக் கத்தியால் குத்தும் காட்சி, காட்சியமைப்பின் உச்சகட்டம்.

அவரது திறமை அதோடு நின்று விடாமல், இலங்கை இராணுவம் பற்றிய காட்சியமைப்பிலும் மிளிர்கிறது. ஒரு புறம் இலங்கை ராணுவ வீரர்கள் ஈழ தமிழர்களை கொண்டு குவிப்பது, பெண்களை பலாத்காரம்  செய்து கொல்வது போன்று காட்டியிருந்தாலும், அவர்களிலும் ஒரு நல் உள்ளம் கொண்ட வீரனைக் காட்டி, இலங்கை ராணுவத்திலும் நல்லவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது போல் காட்டியிருக்கிறார்.

ஆங்கில பட இயக்குனர்கள் மட்டுமே எடுக்கும் போர் சம்பந்தமான படங்களுக்கெல்லாம் சந்தோஷ் சிவன் இந்த படத்தின் மூலமாக சவால் விட்டிருக்கிறார். 'Pear Harbour', 'Schindler List' போன்ற படங்களின் வரிசையில் இந்த படமும் உலகத் தரம் வாய்ந்த படம் என்று கூறினால் அது மிகையாகாது. ஒருவரை மட்டுமே குறை கூறவேண்டும் என்று எடுக்காமல், ஈழ மக்களின் வாழ்க்கையைப் படமாக காட்டியிருப்பதே இந்த படத்தின் சிறப்பு. நம்முடைய ரசிகர்கள் இது போன்ற படைத்திருக்கு எப்படி வரவேற்ப்பு அளிப்பார்கள் என்பதைப் பொறுத்திருந்து தான் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.

படம் முழுவதும் ரசிகர்களை எங்கும் நகர விடாமல், ஆங்காங்கே சிறு கைத்தல்களைப் பெற்று, ஆங்காங்கே ரசிகர்களை கண்ணீர் விடச் செய்து, படத்தின் இறுதியில் ரசிகர்களின் பலத்த கைத்தட்டலைப் பெற்று, அனைவரையும் கனமான இதயத்தோடு வெளியேற்றுகிறது. இந்த அற்புதமான படைப்பினை அனைவரும் திரையரங்கினில் கண்டு களிக்க வேண்டும் என்பது என்னுடைய பணிவான வேண்டுகோள். தமிழீழம் வாழ்க! வளர்க!

குறிப்பு: திரைப்படத்தில் 4 பாடல்கள், 5 சண்டைக் காட்சிகள் என பொழுதுபோக்கு சினிமா ரசிகர்களுக்கு, இந்த படம் பிடிக்காமல் கூட இருக்கலாம். அப்படி நினைப்பவர்கள் உண்மை தமிழர்களே இல்லை!

My review about 'Endrendrum Punnagai'

After some smashing box office failures of the recent movies of Jeeva and Vinay, Initially 'Endrendrum Punnagai' had no expectations at all. After the songs got released, the expectation slowly started to grow. The songs went on to be a massive hit. Once the distribution rights got acquired by 'Red Giant Movies' the movie's expectation got up little more. Lets see what this movie is upto.

CAST:
'Endrendrum Punnagai' is all about the story of three friends. Jiiva , Santhanam and Vinay are some perfect choose for it. Jiiva as 'Gowtham' stands tall among the three [Performance - Based]. This is definetely one different Jiiva we would see in screen. The audience would have noticed Jiiva as a Romantic hero alone in his previous movies. In this movie, he takes up a role of a guy who hates women, which is pretty much opposite to his initial roles. He shows all the mixed feelings pretty perfectly with his expression- Happiness, Possessiveness, Frustration, Love etc., Such a matured role this is, for Jiiva.

Vinay as 'Sri' and Santhanam as 'baby' comes alongside as Jiiva's friends from childhood. Vinay perfectly fits into the role of a lover boy, who always has a passion of mesmerising women. His acting skill has got better in this movie. Santhanam is yet another strength to this film. His timing comedies makes the audience to burst into laughter. His magical comic dialogues takes the audiece through the first half of the film. In this film, santhanam has got a neat role as a friend apart from his comedies. These three men are rightly chosen.

Trisha Krishnan as 'Priya' plays the Lady-in-Lead role. She looks pretty much beautiful even after 10 years of her film career. She has got a silent romantic role in this film. In the first half, she has not got much to do with. The second half of the movie is all trisha's beauty and performance. She is not simply used for songs alone. She has got a great role to play in this film. Andrea Jeremiah comes in as a model for quite a few scenes alone. She has not got much to do in the film. Nasser plays the role of Jiiva's father. Initially, while we think nasser's role has got no importance at all, the veteran actor shows his importance in the second half towards the end of the film with his awesome acting skills. On the whole, the entire cast and crew has done a amazing work with what the director has expected from them.

CINEMATOGRAPHY AND MUSIC:
Cinematography is being done by R.Madhie of 'Veyil','Paiyaa' and 'Naan Mahaan Alla' fame. His camera adds a lot of freshness into the movie. Right from the initial title sequence, Madhie gets the attraction of audience with his brilliant camera work. Especially the sequences shot in switzerland provides a visual treat for people watching it. The road, snow rain and colourful locales of switzerland is definetely a treat to watch. Music by Harris Jayaraj is the biggest asset of the movie, though the tunes resemble his previous films like 'Unnale Unnale' and 'Irandaam Ulagam', songs are so awesome to hear. 'Vaan engum nee minna' is definetely the pick of the album. With Madhie's awesome cinematography and Harris Jeyaraj's romantic tune, this song definetely makes you to forget yourself.

STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIRECTION:
'Endrendrum Punnagai' is written and directed by I.Mueenuddin Ahmed of 'Vaamanan' fame. Taking a story of three friends with some love and sentiment is what we see often in many tamil films. Still, the way of depiction of this movie makes it look different. The director should have been lauded for giving in such a wonderful feel good movie, that never makes you feel the length of it, though it runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Though the movie looks pretty much fresh. There are places where the director takes the old path of a tamil film. Whenever a heroine gets misunderstanding with her boyfriend, there comes a guy from U.S to marry her and atlast the hero again marries her leaving that U.S guy helpless. The same old fashion is followed in this movie also. The screenplay makes you to guess the rest of scenes which is the big letdown in the movie. Still we wont feel bored while watching this flick as rest other elements like comedy, music, cinematography hold the nerve of the movie till the end.

VERDICT:

Positives - Entire cast and crew, Music, Cinematography
Negative - Predictable Screenplay

On the whole, this movie is definetely a neat mild hearted flick to watch-out for in theaters.

இரண்டாம் உலகம் - ஓர் புதிய பயணம்...

இனி தமிழ் படங்களின் மீது என்னுடைய பார்வையை வெளியிடக் கூடாது  என்று தான் நினைத்திருந்தேன். அனால் சமீபத்தில் வெளியான 'இரண்டாம் உலகம்' படத்தினைப் பார்த்த பின்னர், அதனைப் பற்றி வெளியான சில விமர்சனங்களால்  அதனைப் பற்றி என்னுடைய பார்வையை வெளியிட முடிவு செய்து இந்த பதிவை உங்களுக்கு வழங்குகிறேன். இந்த தமிழனின் அற்புதமான படைப்பிற்கு, இந்த பார்வையை தமிழிலேயே வழங்குகிறேன்.

படத்தின் கதைக்களம் காதலும், அதைச் சார்ந்த இடமும். இவ்வுலகைத் தாண்டி நிற்கும் காதலை எவரும் எதிர்பாரா வண்ணம் அமைத்து, ஒரு புதிய உலகை நம்மிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதே இந்த 'இரண்டாம் உலகம்'. கதையின் நாயகனாக ஆர்யா. மிகவும் அற்புதமான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார். காதலின் பிரிவைத் தாங்கி நிற்கும் இடத்திலும் சரி, அனுஷ்காவோடு ஏற்படும் சில ஊடல் காட்சிகளிலும் சரி, மனிதர் தன்னுடைய முழு நடிப்பினையும் வெளிப்படுத்தி இருக்கிறார்.

கதையின் நாயகி அனுஷ்கா. இவரது நடிப்பாற்றலை வெளிப்படுத்த இந்த படம் மிகையாய் உதவியிருக்கிறது. காதல் காட்சிகள் மட்டுமில்லாமல், சண்டைக் காட்சிகளிலும்  தன் முத்திரையைப் பதித்திருக்கிறார். 'அருந்ததி' படத்திற்குப் பிறகு, அழகும் கம்பீரமும் கலந்த ஒரு அற்புதமான ஒரு கதாபாத்திரம். மற்ற கதாபாத்திரங்களும் தங்களுக்கு கிடைத்த சிறு வேடங்களைச் செவ்வனே செய்கின்றனர். அவற்றுள், ஆர்யாவின் அப்பாவாக வருபவர் [பெயர் தெரியவில்லை] மிகவும் கவனிக்க வைக்கிறார்.

படத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலம், ராம்ஜியின் காமெராவும், ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயராஜின் பாடல்களும் தான். படத்தின் கதையோட்டத்திற்கு மிகவும் உதவுகிறது. படத்திற்கு அதில் நிலவும் கிராபிக்ஸ் காட்சிகள் மற்றொரு பலம். வேற்றுகிரக வடிவமைப்பு, வேற்றுகிரக சிங்கத்தோடு ஆர்யா போரிடும் காட்சிகள், கிராபிக்ஸின் உச்சம். பார்பவர்களுக்கு வர்ணஜால விருந்தாக அமைகிறது. அனிருத்தின் பின்னணி இசை சில இடங்களில் கதையோடு ஒன்றினையவில்லை. அது தான் படத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய பலவீனம்.

படத்தின் கதை, திரைக்கதை மற்றும் வசனங்களை இயக்குனர் செல்வராகவன் கையாண்டுள்ளார். உலகம் தாண்டி நிற்கும் ஒரு காதல் கதையை அட்டகாசமாக வடிவமைத்திருக்கிறார். படத்தின் திரைக்கதை சற்று மெதுவாகத் தான் செல்கிறது. ஆனால் கதையோட்டத்திலிருந்து சற்றும் விலகாமல் அப்படியொரு அட்டகாசமான கதை, திரைக்கதை உத்திகளை இயக்குனர் கையாண்டுள்ளார்.

பல விமர்சனங்கள், படத்தின் திரைக்கதையை வன்மையாய் தாக்கியிருந்தன. மேல் நாட்டு இயக்குனர்கள் எடுத்த 'அவதார்','நார்னியா' போன்ற படங்களைப் பாராட்டிய அதே சில இணையதளங்களும், விமர்சகர்களும் தான் இந்த படத்தினைத் தாக்கியிருந்தனர். ஒரு வேளை செல்வராகவன் இந்த படத்தினை ஆங்கிலத்தில் எடுத்திருந்தால் இப்படத்தினை அந்நாட்டு மக்கள் மிகையாய் வரவேற்றிருப்பார். என்ன செய்வது, அவர் தமிழ் நாட்டில் பிறந்துவிட்டதால் இங்கே படத்தினை எடுக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது. ஒருவேளை இந்த படத்தினை ஜேம்ஸ் காமேரூன், ஸ்டீவென் ஸ்பீல்பெர்க் போன்ற மேலை நாட்டு இயக்குனர்கள் எடுத்திருந்தால், தூற்றியவர்கள், போற்றியிருப்பர்களோ?

ஒரு தமிழன், தன் படத்தின் மூலமாக மேலை நாட்டுப் படங்களுக்கு சவால் விடுகிறான். அதனை, நம்மவர்கள் என்றுதான் ஏற்றார்கள். சிங்கங்களும், மற்ற விலங்குகளும் மேலை நாட்டு படங்களில் பேசுவதை ஏற்கும் நாம், இது போன்ற தமிழனின் படைப்பினை ஏற்க மறுக்கின்றோம். இந்த படத்தினை பொறுத்த வரையில், புதியதொரு உலகினையும், காதலைப் புதியதொரு கோணத்திலும் திரையரங்கில் கண்டு களிக்கலாம்.

Cinema மினிமா's Movie Review on 'Idharku thaane Aasaipattaai Balakumaara'

This movie produced by Leo Visions and Distributed by JSK films was showing some wonderful stuff right from the initial stages of promotion with some different ads. Then the 'Prayer Song', which was released as a single track, Raised the movie's expectation. Then, the audio launch and teaser release further raised the movie's expectation to the peak. As a result, there were some great advance bookings for this movie and lets see whether this movie has really lived up to its expectations.

Cast and Crew:
Vijay Sethupathi as 'Sumaar Moonji Kumaaru' is the rockstar in this movie. He maintains his momentum right from the first scene till the end. His dialogue delivery, body language all are terrific. He has done a great job morethan his previous releases -  'Soodhu Kavvum','NKPK' and 'Pizza'. Ashwin Kakamanu ['Mangatha' fame] as 'Bala', Is a perfect selection for the role of a Urban sales guy. His dressing sense, mannerisms, reactions and dialogues are all lovely to watch. He has shown some maturity in this role. The scenes where he handles his boss [M.S.Bhaskar] along with his friends and again handling his girl friend [Swathi Reddy] proves his talent.

The lady in lead roles are done by Nandhitha and Swathi Reddy. Out of these two, Nandhitha wins the race. She has done some wonderful job, In places wherein she gets annoyed by Vijay Sethupathy. Swathi Reddy of 'Subramaniyapuram' fame, has to do a lots of homework with her reactions. Pasupathy as 'Annachi' and  Robo Shankar as 'salt sankar' have a small but makes us laugh to the core. The rest other crew includes 'Nan Kadavul' Rajendran, 'Parotta' Soori, Livingstone, 'Pattimandram' Raja, M.S.Bhaskar etc., All these characters hits boundaries and sixes in the limited balls they have got. Such a rocking performance from the entire crew.

Music, Editing and Cinematography:
Songs and BGM score is being recorded by Siddharth Vipin of 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkthula Kaanom' fame. He has done some fantastic work. 'Prayer Song' is the highlight of everything. Lyrics penned by Madhan Karky is also pretty decent. Editing done by Leo John Paul also has some perfect cuts. Cinematography by Mahesh Muthukumar. This subject does not demand any camera Gimics. And he has also done the same what the director has expected him to do.

Story, Screenplay, Dialogue and Direction:
The movie's biggest strengths next to Vijay Sethupathi are dialogues penned by Madhan Karky and Screenplay by Director Gokul, Who has previously directed jeeva starrer 'Rowthiram'. Some dialogues like 'Kumudha is Happy','Annen love failure', 'There is no use of playing violin the back of a bufallo' etc., make the audience to go to their feet and burst into laughter. Good job Karky sir.

Coming to Direction part, the director has trusted his screenplay alone and has made this script ready, as there is nothing called story in it. Depicting a long crew with various situations and assembling them all together, incident by incident is not a easy task for any director. Director Gokul has handled this perfectly with no confusions and no logic loopholes at any places. Still he could have reduced few unwanted scenes that reduce the pace of the film, Which is the only disadvantage of the film.

--> Lengthy, slow pace of the movie with some unwanted scenes

Final Verdit:
Now-a-days, audience expect a 3-hour entertainment as they rush into theater after some heavy stress. This movie promises to provide it. All of you can go to theater and forget all your worries till you leave the movie. Not only Kumudha is happy, All are happy!!

Rating - 7/10 [Nothing New, But an awesome entertainment guaranteed - 2.5 hours Laugh Riot]
